Batangas International Port, or better known as the Batangas Pier, is a major gateway to Luzon. Its strategic location in the CALABARZON region makes it a prime terminal for both cargo and passenger travel. Passengers heading to Boracay, Mindoro, Romblon and Panay Island can catch a ferry or fast craft to their destination. Businesses, on the other hand, can arrange their cargo shipping to depart or arrive at Batangas. Over the years, it had undergone massive modernization efforts, highlighted by the inauguration of the improved Passenger Terminal in 2024.
If you’re traveling or shipping to or from Batangas, you should know your way around the port. Discover the ins and outs of Batangas Port with this guide for passengers and businesses.

Guide For Businesses: Batangas Container Terminal
The Batangas Port also operates cargo and container shipping services, including both domestic and international operators. The container and passenger terminals are operated by Asian Terminals Inc. (ATI). Batangas is considered one of the major ports in the Philippines, particularly for its role in decongesting the Port of Manila and as the main entry/exit point for CALABARZON and MIMAROPA.
The vital function of the container terminal mainly caters to business operations. With 2 Bulk Cargo Berths at 415 meters long, and over 500,000 MT capacity for bulk cargoes, the port solidifies its role in sustaining a resilient supply chain.
Connecting with a Freight Forwarder or Shipping Line
Contact a trusted freight forwarder to send a container to Batangas Pier. The logistics process often involves multiple modes of transport, such as trailer trucking, handling, and sea shipping. Many shipping companies in the Philippines have all-in-one solutions and the capacity to coordinate the entire process on your behalf, such as:
- Trucking Services
- Sea Cargo Shipping
- Customs Clearance
- Container Shipping
- Freight Forwarding
Transporting to Batangas City Port
Shipments from Manila, Cavite, and Laguna must pass through the SLEX and STAR tollways. The best way to transport your goods is to hire a trucking company, complete with reliable units, drivers, and helpers. If you own a truck unit, you can save on logistics costs through direct transport.
Coordinating with ATI
Several cargo processes within the Batangas Container Terminal must be coordinated with ATI. Shipments must also pass through their new digitalized scheduling system, automated gates, and security checks. This complex process can be taken care of by a third-party logistics provider.
- ATI ePortals – The automated online booking, payment, vehicle appointment (TABS Booking), tracking, and traffic monitoring system used at the pier. Freight forwarders must utilize the system for shipments to be processed.
- Auto Gate System – The Batangas City Pier port was recently equipped with the AI-powered gates, used in tandem with their very own integrated platform. The Auto-Gate recognizes each truck, license plate, container doors and seals with sensors.
Documentation and Customs Clearance
As with any shipping activity in the country, the Batangas Port requires all shipping clients to present their cargo manifest, notes for dangerous goods, permits, and accurate container labels for proper documentation. Meanwhile, Customs Clearance is a critical part of international shipping. The Bureau of Customs checks whether all duties, taxes, and fees are secured before approving the shipment.
Traveling to and from Batangas Pier has never been easier. Thanks to recent modernization efforts for the passenger terminal, technological advancements at the Batangas Container Terminal, and consistent improvements, passengers and businesses can now ship and travel worry-free.
